Raccoon Still Returns To Visit The Woman Who Saved Him 3 Years Ago

The deer calmed down after their emotional reunion, and at the end of the day, he returned to nature with his adored mother. The small child apparently merely wanted to thank Harley for saving his life, and they haven’t seen each other since.

Animals, regardless of their species, have a habit of appreciating nice deeds from humans, and this raccoon is no exception. Little Hands was found abandoned on the side of a major road when he was just a newborn.

They transported him to a number of local rescue facilities and wildlife sanctuaries, but owing to an overabundance of animals in need, they were unable to accommodate him.

A wildlife rehabilitator, Nikki Robinson, told The Dodo:

“They reply, ‘Leave it alone and let nature take its course,’ or ‘You can take it to the vet and they’ll have to put it down,’ when you ask what to do with an orphaned raccoon.”

Those comments hurt Nikki’s heart, but she was eager to assist the unfortunate raccoon in any way she could.

Nikki typically works full-time, but her mother, Linda, has a lot of free time and believed it would be beneficial to her with Little Hands.

Linda was a wonderful match for the adorable creature, who needed to be bottle-fed five times a day and cared for 24 hours a day. Ella Linda hesitantly agreed to become Little Hands’ adoptive mother, knowing that she would not have any grandchildren through her daughter Nikki.

Nikki had this to say:

“She melted the first time she bottle-fed him and he gazed at her; she was really loving to him from the start since they enjoy being touched.” So she formed a relationship with him, despite the fact that she was about to return to nature ».

The amiable Little Hands overcame all hurdles thanks to Linda’s care and commitment, and by the end of the summer, he was ready to return to his natural home.

The process of freedom was gradual; they left the home, but returned to the porch or patio for cover until they were able to find their way out. Linda constantly left food for her to ensure she ate properly, but she wished the raccoon would stop returning one day.

Little Hands had another plan in his thoughts, and he continued to visit the family that had saved him every day to say hello. He constantly comes and makes it known; he is really lovely and friendly, so he hopes they give him plenty of hugs and caresses all the time.

Nikki continued:

“My mother has a porch swing where she sits, and he would come over and practically crawl over to be next to her on the swing, just to get his butt and chin stroked.” She wanted to cuddle, then ate and walked away ».

Little Hands has been living in the wild for three years, but he still visits his foster mother and returns to the house where he grew up.

The cute raccoon appears to be eternally thankful to the woman who saved him and will never cease to visit her to express his gratitude.

Linda has taken in numerous orphaned and abandoned young raccoons since her foster son left home to aid them with their lives.
