A Dog The Size Of A Newborn Elephant Comes At The Shelter, Begging For Help

A 10-year-old dog weighed 101 kg, which is almost the same as a young elephant. His health was precarious; he was knotted, filthy, and overweight. Fortunately, he was rescued by the RSPCA in 2020, and his fate was altered.

Trojan, our heroic protagonist, has gone through a lengthy journey to reach his optimum weight; he was so overweight that regular tasks like running or walking were impossible for him.

His rescuers realized right away that the first thing they needed to do was help him lose weight, because only then would he be able to become a healthy dog and participate in all of the things that his obesity had previously prohibited him from doing.

It took a long time, but this lovely dog ultimately lost 60 pounds, earning the title of “slimmest of the year” after dropping half his weight in a year.

Definitely a lot better weight for a puppy of his size. Nicola Anthony, the kennel supervisor at Ashley Heath Animal Center, had this to say about it:

“It took a year, a particular diet, and an exercise routine to help you lose weight gradually and healthily; it currently weighs about half of its initial weight.” Fortunately, he hasn’t lost his personality!

Trojan’s health has improved, and he is now much happy. Your happiness, on the other hand, would be complete if you could find a permanent home that provides you with that familial warmth and treats you with the love and respect you deserve.
This courageous little dog is ten years old, and while he is a hairy adult, he still has plenty of energy and love to share. He enjoys being pampered by his carers and exploring the world around him. His rescuers promise that whomever adopts him will be extremely fortunate.

Because your new family must consider your health and age, you will require frequent trips to the veterinarian. Nicola emphasized:

“Trojan is arthritic and suffers from thyroid issues, so he will require ongoing care in his new home. These ailments will not be covered by insurance, therefore their future owners must be prepared to pay for them.”

“Don’t be fooled by his advanced age; he has no intention of retiring anytime soon.” He’s still going strong and enjoys short walks, hikes in the garden, and plenty of sniffing! He gets along well with other dogs, but he doesn’t appreciate being jumped all over the place, so calm and courteous canine companions are preferred. We feel he would be happier as the only dog in his new home, where he will receive all of the care and loving he deserves! Nicola said.
